Find the way that meets you where you are.

Accessible Strength
Accessible Strength is for women who are new to lifting, returning after time away, or simply want a slower, more supported introduction to strength training. In our small groups of no more than six, you’ll learn the foundations of lifting in a relaxed, encouraging environment where there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else. We focus on building strength progressively, learning good movement patterns and discovering what your body is capable of. You’ll be coached through exercises rather than left to figure them out alone, with modifications available to meet you where you are. This isn’t about being the fittest or strongest person in the room. It’s about building confidence through doing something that once felt difficult or unfamiliar. Over time, you’ll notice yourself lifting more, moving with greater ease and trusting your body more. It’s strength training with patience, curiosity and a healthy dose of encouragement.

Mindful Mobility & Heavy Lifting

This is the heart of Embodied Soul. Mindful Mobility & Heavy Lifting combines progressive strength training with mobility, body awareness and intelligent movement. You’ll lift challenging weights, build muscle and develop real-world strength while learning to pay attention to how your body moves and feels. We work with your body rather than against it, exploring range, control, stability and strength without turning exercise into punishment. The groups are deliberately small, with a maximum of six, so you receive individual coaching and plenty of attention. You’ll be encouraged to challenge yourself, but never at the expense of listening to your body. Over time, heavy lifting becomes less about proving something and more about discovering what you’re capable of. Expect to work hard, move well and probably surprise yourself along the way. This is strength training with depth.

Also available: Mindful Mobility & Heavy Lifting — Mixed
Our signature practice, with selected sessions open to both women and men.
The same Embodied Soul approach to thoughtful movement, mobility and heavy lifting — with these particular sessions open to both women and men. Groups remain small, so you’ll still receive individual coaching and attention while training alongside a supportive mix of people. Expect progressive strength work, mobility and plenty of encouragement to explore what your body can do.
Tuesday 10 am & Friday 11:30 am

Strength Training for Trampers
Strength Training for Trampers is strength training designed around the demands of New Zealand tramping. We build the strength, stability, mobility and conditioning you need to carry yourself — and your pack — over hills, uneven ground and long days on the trail. We’ll work on strong legs, hips and glutes, resilient feet and ankles, core strength and the capacity to keep moving when things get challenging. But this isn’t about becoming a hardcore athlete. It’s about feeling prepared and capable enough to enjoy the adventure rather than simply surviving it. Your training supports the things you want to do outside the gym, whether that’s a local day walk or a multi-day adventure. Expect practical strength, thoughtful movement and a supportive group of people who understand why getting strong for the outdoors matters.

Ready to Run
Ready to Run for women who are curious about running but don’t know where to start — or who have started and want to feel more comfortable and confident as they build their running practice. We’ll combine running with mobility, movement preparation and body awareness, creating a supportive introduction without the pressure to run fast or go far. You’ll learn how to gradually introduce running and pay attention to how your body responds as you build your capacity. Mobility and preparation work will help you move freely and feel more confident in your body as you begin. We’ll focus on consistency rather than perfection and progress rather than punishment. There is no expectation that you already think of yourself as “a runner.” You simply need to be willing to begin. This is a small, supportive group where you can learn, experiment and find your own rhythm. You don’t have to be a runner to start running.

Stillness & Mobility
Stillness & Mobility is a space to explore the other side of strength. This practice brings together yoga, mobility, breath, gentle movement and restorative practices to help you slow down and reconnect with your body. There is no performance goal here and nothing to prove. Instead, we create space to notice, breathe, release tension and explore movement with curiosity. Some days your body needs to lift something heavy. Other days it needs to soften, lengthen and restore. Both are valuable. This practice is designed to complement your strength training rather than compete with it. It can be useful for weeks when you need a break from lifting, but still want to show up for yourself. It’s an opportunity to develop body awareness and cultivate the stillness that can be just as powerful as physical effort. Come as you are, listen inward and leave feeling more spacious in your body.
