Hi, I'm Katy - founder of Embodied Soul. I teach movement that’s functional, nervous-system aware, and grounded in real life. My work blends strength training, intelligent yoga, somatic healing, and intuitive energy work — all with the goal of helping you come home to your body.
How I Work
At Embodied Soul, I bring together two essential forces: strength and stillness. Strength is about building a capable, trustworthy body. Stillness is about creating safety, rest, and deeper connection within. Together, they support a grounded and sustainable approach to embodiment.
My work is especially supportive for women, sensitive souls, and anyone moving through life transitions, burnout, or healing. I blend strength training, functional movement, intelligent yoga, restorative practices, nervous system support, somatic trauma work, and intuitive energy guidance into a cohesive experience that meets you where you are.
I value sustainability, inclusivity, and working with the body you have — not the one society says you should. I live simply in a tiny home in the Tasman region with my daughter and believe in real, lasting change — not quick fixes. I’ve taught over 1,500 hours of movement classes, and I lift barefoot (and encourage others to do the same).
My Journey
Movement has been my medicine — from navigating grief and solo parenting to walking Te Araroa and completing an ultra-marathon.
I began with silent meditation, then trained in yoga, energy healing, and trauma-informed practices that felt more compassionate and real. Later, lifting heavy weights reconnected me to strength, trust, and self-respect.
My credentials include:
REPS Certified Personal Trainer (Fit Futures)
Mindful Strength Mentorship (Kathryn Bruni-Young)
500+ hours of Yoga Training (Heart & Bones, Yoga for All, Mataji)
You want to move in a way that respects your energy, not pushes through it
You’re ready to move with more trust, less pressure
You’re craving support that honours your sensitivity
You’re looking for a way to move that fits your life and your body
If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you.
Feel free to get in touch for a chat — we can talk about where you’re at, what you’re needing, and how I might support you. There’s no pressure, just a gentle space to explore what’s possible.
